Rachel James is a California bred, New York City based screenwriter, director, and content creator.

Her work often subverts genre paradigms, infusing unexpected humor, horror, and heart to tell an array of character driven narratives -- all connected by themes of social justice, female aggression, and feminine power.

Rachel was recently featured in 2019’s Young & Hungry list. Her screenplays have placed on the Black List, the Hit List, Academy Nicholls Fellowship, WeScreenplay Diverse Voices, and BlueCat Screenplay Competition, among others. Her work has been supported by Lewis Klahr's Flixus Program, CATWALK Artist Residency, and Wildacres Residency Program.
